The idea
A small app that does the essentials properly
TalkRidge is deliberately lean. Instead of chasing every feature, it does the things people actually use — and does them with the same care on the surface as under the hood.
There is no feed, no stories, no stickers marketplace and no AI reading your chats. There is messaging that works, calls that connect, and privacy you do not have to configure — encryption in TalkRidge has no off switch.

Every feature below ships in the app today — and every one of them works inside the same end-to-end encryption, with no 'secret chat' mode to remember to turn on.
Chats & groups
One-to-one and group conversations that feel like any modern messenger — except every word is sealed on your device before it goes anywhere.
Voice notes
Hold to record, release to send. Voice messages are encrypted exactly like text — the relay cannot tell one from the other.
Photos & media
Send pictures and view them full-screen, save them to your photo library — all delivered as sealed blobs the server cannot open.
File attachments
Share documents and files in a conversation, with the same end-to-end encryption wrapped around every byte.
Voice calls
Encrypted calls with the audio flowing peer-to-peer between your devices — the call setup rides the same sealed channel as your messages.
Video calls
Face-to-face over an encrypted peer-to-peer connection, with picture-in-picture and camera flip — no media server watching in the middle.
Group calls
Small group voice and video calls, connected as a mesh between the participants’ devices rather than mixed on a server.
Forward & unsend
Forward messages between chats and delete-for-everyone when you need something gone — with the request retried until every device complies.
The little things
Unread badges, swipe-to-mark-unread, call history and a scroll position that behaves — the everyday details, done carefully.
Quietly considerate
The decisions you don’t see
A private messenger is mostly defined by what it refuses to do. These are the defaults TalkRidge chose so you don’t have to.
No account to manage
Your identity is created on your phone the first time the app opens. There is nothing to register, verify, or recover a password for.
Notifications that say nothing
Push notifications carry no content — just a nudge to check the app, with per-type toggles for messages and calls.
Backup, your choice
Convenience mode keeps an encrypted backup of your contacts and identity that only your keys can open. Privacy mode keeps everything on the device — losing the phone means losing the history, by design.
Built for real distances
TalkRidge is delivered over a global edge network and used across borders and continents daily — the relay is wherever you are.

TalkRidge’s encryption is built exclusively from vetted, unmodified open-source cryptographic primitives, and the protocol design is documented openly. The applications have not yet undergone an independent external security audit — we say so plainly rather than borrow trust, and independent review is on the roadmap.
